Safeguards' Policy

CANCELLATION and REFUND POLICY

Regional Programs

Members: If a registrant cannot attend a workshop, they must notify Safeguards' office at least 3 working days prior to the workshop. A $50 administrative fee will be retained. People canceling after that and /or not attending a workshop will be charged a cancellation fee of $100.00. Substitutions may be made, however registrants must notify Safeguards as early as possible. TCI Cancellation Policy outlined on TCI confirmation.
Membres : Au cas où une personne inscrite ne pourrait pas participer à un atelier, elle doit avertir les bureaux de SafeGuards au moins trois jours ouvrables avant l'atelier. Les frais administratifs de 50 $ ne sont pas remboursables. Les personnes qui annulent après ce délai et (ou) qui ne participent pas à l'atelier seront facturées de la somme de 100 $ à titre de frais d'annulation. Les personnes inscrites peuvent opérer des substitutions, mais elles doivent avertir SafeGuards dès que possible. La politique en cas d'annulation ITC est indiquée sur la confirmation ITC.

Non-Members: Cancellations received up to 3 working days prior to the workshop are refundable, minus the $50 administrative fee. Registrants who do not cancel and /or do not attend are responsible for the full fee. Substitutions may be made, however registrants must notify Safeguards as early as possible.

Les personnes inscrites qui n'annulent pas leur inscription et (ou) qui ne participent pas à l'atelier sont responsables du paiement intégral des frais. Les personnes inscrites peuvent opérer des substitutions, mais elles doivent avertir SafeGuards dès que possible.

 

Therapeutic Crisis Intervention
Members and Non-members: For cancellations made 11-30 days in advance, we will make every effort to fill the vacancy with another applicant and refund the registration fee minus $50 CDN service charge. If we cannot find a replacement, we will refund only half of your registration fee. No refunds will be given with less than 10 days notice. Cancellation must be submitted in writing. Substitutions are permitted.

RespiteOnlineTraining                                                                                                  A registrant has a six month window of time to access the course once reg. Safeguards is only charging a $25 CDN administrative fee which is the portion that would be retained if a person should cancel, therefore there is no reimbursement for a cancellation during this period. 


Cancellation by Safeguards                                                                  Safeguards makes every attempt to ensure that courses run. We reserve the right to change arrangements or cancel courses. We will notify participants as soon as possible of any changes and refund registration fees if applicable.

CONFIRMATION POLICY

For Classroom Training: Confirmation will be issued by Safeguards Training upon receipt of registration (and payment if required).

For Online Training: A confirmation and PIN to access the course will be emailed upon receipt of registration and confirmation of payment.

PRIVACY POLICY

Safeguards Training for Children and Adult Services is committed to maintaining the accuracy, confidentiality, and security of your personally identifiable information ("Personal Information"). As part of this commitment, the following principles govern our actions as they relate to the collection, use and disclosure of Personal Information. The principles have been built upon the values set by the Canadian Standards Association's Model Code for the Protection of Personal Information and Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act.

Accountability
Safeguards Training is responsible for maintaining and protecting the Personal Information under its control.

Identifying Purposes
The purposes for which Personal Information is collected will be identified before or at the time the information is collected.

Consent
Knowledge and consent are required for the collection, use or disclosure of Personal Information except where required or permitted by law.

Limiting Collection
The Personal Information collected will be limited to those details necessary for the purposes identified by Safeguards Training.

Limiting Use, Disclosure and Retention
Personal Information may only be used or disclosed for the purpose for which it was collected unless the participant has otherwise consented, or when it is required or permitted by law. Personal information will only be retained for the period of time required to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected or as required by law.

Accuracy
Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used.

Safeguarding Customer Information
Personal Information will be protected by security safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity level of the information.

Openness
Safeguards Training will make information available to our customers concerning the policies and practices that apply to the management of their Personal Information.

Customer Access
Upon request, a customer shall be informed of the existence, use and disclosure of their Personal Information, and shall be given access. Customers may verify the accuracy and completeness of their Personal Information, and may request that it be amended, if appropriate.

The Executive Director is to inform the Board of Directors of all inquiries and questions and complaints made by individual in relation to this privacy policy.
