Description
In Mindfulness and Self Care for Helping Professionals in Uncertain Times, participants will be supported to engage in a daily mindfulness practice as we move through these unprecedented days of uncertainty with community support. There will be facilitated online Discussion Board between sessions to help reduce isolation and stress of working with vulnerable people.
This is a two session webinar training.
Week 1: Engaging Mindfulness Practices in Uncertain Times
The goal of week 1 is to introduce/re-engage front line workers to the importance of a regular mindfulness practice.
Participants will learn the following:
- Introduction/review of mindfulness practices for self-care
- Myths of mindfulness practice
- RAIN practice
- Strategies to establish a weekly mindfulness practice over the new week.
- Guided meditations to try
Week 2: Building our Emotional Resilience on the Frontlines
Week 2 builds on week 1 after participants have had a chance to (re)engage with a mindfulness practice while helping the clients they serve and manage their own stress.
Participants will learn the following:
- Challenges of establishing a regular practice and how to address them
- Resilience model of emotion regulation and how to teach to clients.
- Self- compassion practices and when to use them.
- Helping clients build resources in daily life even when times are tough.

This course is delivered exclusively online as 2 interactive webinars spaced over two weeks. - Online learning platform (Thinkific LMS)
Participants will have access to online learning modules to supplement live sessions as well as:
• Activities and discussion forum for a week after each webinar
• Downloadable resources and handouts
• Access replay of session recordings
