Untangling Complex Trauma, Dissociation, and Neurodiversity
Working with complex trauma can be confusing and overwhelming especially when working with neurodiverse individuals. Neurodiverse individuals often have the experience of being mis-seen and misunderstood. Combined with communication challenges, mistrust of their own experiences and abilities, and challenges with non-verbal communication, neurodiverse people can be difficult to engage in treatment. To complicate matters, dissociation and neurodiversity can mirror one another, which can make trauma assessment difficult. In this training, learn how to describe, assess, and respond to complex trauma, dissociation, and neurodivergence in order to support healing in traumatized neurodivergent individuals.
